So far I’ve been doing these posts in the order in which I
obtained the dresses. I was very seriously considering doing a post with my
Heart E tartan JSK, however, it’s not quite traditional lolita. There are
certainly lolita ways to wear it, but I haven’t had the time (and sometimes the
right pieces) to do that just yet. So let’s ignore that order for now, I’ll
return to the Heart E piece and meantime let’s enjoy the prettiness that is
Haenuli’s Lovely Memories JSK.
Look 1: Pastel Elegant Lady
| Angelic Pretty Romantic Bright blouse | Red Maria tights | vintage hat | Irregular Choice shoes | offbrand, Promised Land Creations and Peppermint Fox brooches | |
In the past I saved my favourite looks til last, but I’m
scrapping that too, I want my favourite coord to be this post’s thumb image. I
wasn’t entirely sure whether this would translate into a flatlay as well as it
looked in my head, so it’s nice to see that it did. Pastel pinks and blues are
a match made in heaven and even though the blues don’t match, it somehow works
in that vintage way that’s ok with some mismatch. This outfit gives me serious
elegant lady goes for afternoon tea during summer vibes and it’s a mood I can
100% get behind.
Look 2: Casual Sweet
| offbrand cutsew | BtSSB Cookie Embroidery bolero | Angelic Pretty Diner Doll socks | Bodyline shoes | offbrand beret | Lad Sloth brooches | Chocomint ring | offbrand ring | |
Although it’s a very classic lolita dress, I wanted to see
if I could sweeten it up a little. The whites and mints distract from the
unusual shade of pastel blue, whilst still working well with it. Maybe it’s the
bolero, OTKs and beret combo, but this outfit makes me think of early autumn,
when it’s starting to get chilly, but before the weather gets too miserable.
And with the tea party shoes this would be comfy enough to go café hopping or
light shopping. Maybe it will get worn like this one day…
Look 3: Starry Snowflake Ball
| Lady Sloth Glitter Mesh blouse | Baroque overskirt | Angelic Pretty Harlequinade OTKs | Angelic Pretty Elegant Doll boots | Haruhi Clover headbow | Sweet Doly House and vintage brooches | |
It’s only recently that I realised how much this dress
reminds me of Elsa from Frozen (maybe
it’s because of the Frozen 2 trailers?).
So whilst this isn’t exactly inspired by her, I wanted to do something fancy
and winter themed. The overskirt’s fringe and the blouse are such a perfect
colour match, it’s unbelievable! If I were to wear this, it might be with the
blouse off shoulders, I’m not sure – I’d certainly play with that idea. And
hopefully the overskirt would sit much nicer worn than it does on the flatlay,
it wasn’t the easiest thing to make it look neat.
Look 4: Trusty Sailor
| Hell Bunny cardigan | Innocent World Anchor OTKs | Sosic Shop heels | offbrand beret | vintage necklace | Twinkle Kitty Boutique rings | |
It feels like a while since I broke out my trusty sailor
lolita combo. It’s an old favourite, though this time I used far fewer red
accents than I have in the past. They’re still there, but I wanted to keep the
focus on the blues. And whilst the casual sweet outfit above was making me
think of autumn, this one is definitely early spring, when it’s still chilly
enough to need some layers, but getting brighter and nicer. For summer it would
definitely have to be my sailor cutsew and some ankle socks, so at least it’s
not a difficult transformation either.
Last time I wore this dress was in January and next time I
plan on wearing it will be December. Given the fabric and that it’s basically a
summer release, I should make more effort to wear this during warmer weather,
yet life doesn’t seem to be working out this way for me. Oh well, one day I’m
sure it will.
Oh wow, this dress is amazing and I love all these ways you've coorded it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is a truly amazing dress and I'm so glad I got it. I'm planning on wearing it to Winter ILD this year, though I also realise I need to do more spring/summer coords with it, it can't be a forever winter dress.
