In contrast to January 2024, January 2025 has flown by. None of the dread of the month dragging – but in exchange for all of the panic that I don’t have enough time for everything (I’ve been consumed by crafting and a secret project).

Coord 1: Small Errands
| Metamorphose Lovely Forest skirt | Axes Femme cutsew | Snag tights | Laura Ashley shoes | Cutie Creator Maiden’s Prayer headbow | offbrand studs | vintage brooch | |
Kicking the year off with the usual dose of very lazy styling. |
Simple styling relies on the right statement accessory imo. |
Happy New Year! Whilst my January 1st was way more underdressed than this, on January 2nd I made it a point to dress up. Sadly, my original idea didn’t quite work, but thankfully I could salvage most of the coord by just swapping out the main piece. This coord had such WFH vibes, even though I was still on annual leave, that it convinced me that it was a Tuesday! It probably didn’t help that I was also going to the supermarket and doing a lot of small computer-based chores using my work desk. But oh well, let this be the auspicious thing that gets me to dress up cute for working from home all over 2025!

Coord 2: WFH 2025
| Violet Fane Otome Nostalgia skirt | Axes Femme cutsew | Amavel cardigan | Angelic Pretty Brigitte Regimen OTKs | offbrand shoes | Cutie Creator headbow | Swimmer badges | |
And to celebrate the first actual WFH coord of 2025 - an even more lazy styling! |
My friend brought me these back from her trip to Japan and I felt they vibe with Otome Nostalgia pretty well in theme. |
The first day of working from home of 2025 and kicking it off in style. And very little actual work, but shh, we’re glancing over that. The coord was cute, courtesy of one idea (the cutsew) and some input from Whering (the cardigan), and it was comfortable for a whole day of staying at home. Otome Nostalgia is such trusted staple, I can always count on her to pull through. Also, let’s all rejoice for Violet Fane returning – and start saving for those full shirring skirts.

Coord 3:Academia Vibes
| Metamorphose Shirring Tiered Ribbon JSK | Axes Femme blouse | Innocent World Original Lace Millefeuille bolero | Innocent World Fleur Checkered OTKs | Sosic Shop shoes | offbrand hair clip | Pypah’s Art earrings | Fantastic Grim Jewelry necklace | Axes Femme brooch | |
Peep the cute book-themed art on my bookshelf! |
These make me more happy than I can express. |
A secret project was happening that day and I wanted to dress up in something with at least slight academia vibes. To me that means browns and earth tones, but I also wanted to be comfy, which took a turn to this brown x sax combo. I admit, it was so cold that day that I almost changed my mind about dressing up, but then the layered nature of frills makes it great for cold weather, so ultimately only my hands were freezing. As for the secret project… Let’s just say that if you’re one of those people who likes the sound of my voice (an idea that still perplexes me, but I know there are people like that out there), then you may enjoy this one.

Coord 4: Soft Elegance
| Innocent World White Double Braid Tartan skirt | offbrand cutsew and hair clip | Innocent World Original Lace Millefeuille bolero | Angelic Pretty Salon de The Rose OTKs | Hush Puppies boots | Crafty Witch by Nix earrings | Gravelvet Iridescent Princess necklace | Peacockalorum Silver Jewel Feather brooch | |
Eyeliner and lipstick, and suddenly I manage to look more put-together. Magic. |
My craft project got to double as a background for the detail shot of these earrings. |
Another WFH day and another relaxed, though elegant coord. As well as another idea courtesy of Whering’s random outfit generator. Putting this lavender top with this cutsew was an interesting idea and whilst looking at the end result now, it could definitely have been done better, I like the outfit. If anything, it made me pine for more Innocent World in my wardrobe, but that might not be as doable as it sounds.

Coord 5: Cosy Wednesday
| Violet Fane Ginza Kissaten skirt | Axes Femme cutsew | DreamV cardigan | Snag tights | Sosic Shop shoes | Physical Drop headbow | Cosy Kawaii Mood earrings | Milkribbon Butterkeks brooch | |
That one earring swinging wildly out of control... |
There's something deeply nostalgic for me about brown and beige coords themed arounds biscuits and chocolates. That was a time in our fashion that I remember with unadulterated fondness. |
More working from home in warmth and comfort. Although my heart has been wanting to goth up with Just One Bite, but the energy levels were not up for that much effort, so I went for something obvious and comfy. Because romanticising my daily life is the way forward in 2025.

Coord 6: Endless Crafting
| Dear Celine Magic Book OP | Innocent World Ribbon Lace Millefeuille bolero | Snag tights | Elf Armorie Cupid's Heart shoes | handmade (not by me) headbow | Vivienne Westwood Lorelei studs | Vivienne Westwood Mini Bas Relief pendant | Nona Gallery The Cat necklace | |
This is like Hoshibako Works level of head-eating headbow, so I had to bust out the faux fringe. |
It is gorgeous though, just look at it! |
And entirely excessive endeavour to dress up just to craft, but we take every bit of motivation for finishing projects that we can. This OP is no longer quite as comfortable as it used to be, so the whole coord didn't stay on for long, only a couple of hours as I sewed, but I like it overall. It's the right balance of simple, yet effective. |

Coord 7: Giving in to the Darker Side
| Mary Magdalene Paulina JSK | Axes Femme cutsew | Innocent World Cross Lace bolero | Teja Jamilla Crown tights | Elf Armorie Cupid’s Heart shoes | handmade (not by me) headbow and earrings | offbrand necklace and ring | |
My no-glasses-selfie skills went downhill with lack of practice, this took way too long to get. |
Charity shop jewellery corners are usually full of trash, but occasionally there is something truly lovely to be found there. |
I gave in to the internal nagging to dress in something darker (though not quite gothic). The coord also served as an excuse to try a different method of curling my hair, which failed completely, though at least it achieved some volume required for this giant bow. My necklace was an excellent charity shop find and whilst for most of the day I was, once again, doing very little of substance (work, cooking, crafts), it did lift my spirits. Not quite as much as my payday arriving a day early (apparently someone is in deep trouble for that, but I have a rapier now, I can defend them from the unfairness of capitalist bureaucracy!), but it still cheered me up.

Between the usual shite winter weather and the resulting lower energy levels, I haven’t prioritised wearing frills that often. My 2025 goals of going for comfort have also played a part, as the few times that I thought about dressing up, the ideas that had me excited were a bit more involved and I didn’t want to deal with elastics in unusual places or doing the styling the coord idea deserved. I’m sure things will pick up as the outside world warms up (and as I’m done sewing). They always do. Hopefully your January didn’t drag either and you’re ready to tackle the shortest month with some love.
