1 'Dress' 4 Looks Take 32

As you’re about to see, these looks feature, in fact, a pair of shorts, not a dress. But it’d be a stretch to create a whole other title for just one pair of shorts, hence the inverted commas. Welcome to an ouji edition of 1 Dress 4 Looks, featuring Metamorphose’s Wizarding Lesson  ~ The Trainee Wizard ~ shorts.

Look 1: Circus Lad

This boy clearly ran away to join the circus after watching The Greatest Showman. He loves Hugh Jackman, randomly bursting into song and to make everyone around him smile. After much conscious work he’s embraced his sweeter and more feminine side, because boys can be that too. You will often find him with his thumbs hooked on his braces – that’s how cool circus boys stand all the time, right?

Look 2: Elegant Boy

This is what vampire lolita wears when they’re feeling their more masculine side. As a person they are pretty androgynous, so they only really change their bottom half of the outfit to show off how they feel like presenting that day. Though in this masculine version they do look a bit like a rich landowner’s son, who’s on a break from school and dad allowed them to stay with the grown-ups at the party, and they’re trying really hard to be seen as mature and adult despite being like 14.

Look 3: Schoolboy

Whilst not strictly a uniform, that’s what the lad from above wears when at school. Blue is kind of a school colour (and he definitely feels like a Ravenclaw, so that’s all good), although there was a shortage of dark boots around. At least the gold ones match the bag, right? It’s such a Western mainstream fashion to match your bag to shoes, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Look 4: Gothic Teen

The lad from Look 2 has grown up a bit now and fully entered the rebellious teen years. Still wants to pass as being mature, adult and serious, but kind of doesn’t really know how to actually achieve that. And so they still wear those shorts, which are quite boyish, with the super adult-looking Roland, which is long enough to cover the shorts anyway. They’re also still figuring out where they fall on that gender spectrum and went with more feminine pieces, like the headdress and tights, to create this slightly jumbled up coord.

As my ouji wardrobe is still very limited, my main goals for this post were to: 1) avoid using my tricorn hat; and 2) avoid doing navy with wine coords. Those are the two common factors between my most recent (ekhm, only) ouji coords and I wanted to see how much I could do. And I’m very happy to say that these aren’t all the looks I could’ve done, as I barely touched on shorts with cardigans or just shorts with shirts. (One ouji’s advice I read was that it’s not good enough if your ouji coord is only complete with a jacket, as it’s not always appropriate to have the jacket on and your outfit needs to work without it too.) Which is very good news as I have no immediate plans of expanding on my ouji wardrobe. Oh, wait – I did have those plans of getting a military style AP parka… Shoot!
