Birthday Afternoon Tea
First outfit post of 2017 – yay! It
was my 25th birthday on Sunday and if one’s birthday isn’t an excuse
to wear Lolita, then nothing is.

I went to York with my Mum to have
afternoon tea at Betty’s. I wanted to go back since I went there for the first time back in October and although previously I had hoped to do something more
to celebrate my birthday, as we’ve had a very tiring visit from relatives just
before I didn’t have the energy to do much (never mind that I also didn’t have
any other ideas). But a fancy afternoon tea is celebratory enough.
Since I needed something capable of
accommodating all the food (doesn’t look like much, but it was sooo filling) as well as very fancy, Whipped Cream Kitty was the best
candidate for that. It was great to wear this dress again, I definitely need to
pull it out of the wardrobe more often! I had this more Classic coord running
through my head probably since I received my Taobao order containing the
headbow and tights pictured. Red or blue boots would’ve made the colours that
little bit more balanced out, but I don’t own any and it was too cold to just
go out in heels (especially with tights this thin) – still, I’m happy with how
the outfit came out.
How was your first week of 2017 so
far? I hope it was good. I’d love to see what was your first coord of the year,
but if you haven’t had the chance to wear Lolita yet then I wish you that
inspiration and the perfect opportunity meet.
Celebrating a birthday with a Afternoon tea sounds as a good idea. Maybe should I do it with a few friends(surely it would not being on Bettty's, I would not be able to afford plane tickets). And happy belated birthday to you.

If there's a nice afternoon tea place near you (and it seems like recently, with the rise of popularity of vintage/1950's/rockabilly stuff most bigger cities have at least one place, often in more fancy hotels) I'd recommend it. It's a fun way to have a whole meal (sandwiches AND dessert) and feel really cute whilst at it.

My 2017 so far has been nice actually! I'm feeling very refreshed and motivated! Hopefully it will continue :P
